Honesty uncovers roots

Seeing what we miss

Dear ,

“Who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults.” — Psalm 19:12

We all have “blind spots”—patterns of behavior or thinking that are obvious to others but hidden from us. These hidden faults are often the roots of our most persistent problems. If we only deal with the symptoms we can see, we will never find lasting healing.

Honesty uncovers roots. We need to ask God to show us what we are missing. This requires a high level of humility and a willingness to be corrected. When we allow God to shine a light into the dark corners of our character, we aren’t being shamed; we are being set free from things that were secretly holding us back.

Ask a trusted, honest friend or sponsor: “Is there a recurring pattern in my life that I might be blind to?” Listen with an open heart.

God, reveal hidden faults and lead me to truth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. You deserve a life free
from addiction

Sincerely,
The RGV Road to Recovery IA Team
