Confess and renounce

Dear ,
“Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” — Proverbs 28:13
Concealing our mistakes is like trying to hold a beach ball underwater; it takes immense energy and eventually, it’s going to pop up. Living in concealment prevents us from prospering in recovery because it keeps us tied to the very things we are trying to leave behind.
The path to mercy has two steps: confessing (admitting the truth) and renouncing (making a firm decision to turn away). When we take these steps, we don’t find a God who is waiting to strike us down; we find a God whose mercy meets us exactly where we are, offering us a way out of the shadows.

Is there something you are “concealing” right now? Confess it to God and then “renounce” it by telling a sponsor or accountability partner your plan to avoid it.

Lord, give me courage to confess and turn from my sins. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. You deserve a life free
from addiction
Sincerely,
